Linux on Compaq Presario 1400

Hello:

I am trying to install Debian 3.0 on a laptop I have.
Unfortunately, during the installation the NIC is not
detected. I am having problems getting it to work. Can
anyone please guide me to where I can find the Linux
driver for this NIC: Conexant Combo 10/100. I've done
a search on google.com but can't get quite to the
right site to download it.

Has anyone tried installing Linux on this Laptop
model?
