That may explain... I tried to do a multiple-package update using URPMI, and 
most of the pacakages failed; they wouldn't display info.  (Bad URPMI 
uninstalled packages that might conflict before checking integrity of their 
replacements.) 
 
So it's back to mounting the CD's for now.
