There are a bunch of ways to get your uptime.  Along with the 'uptime'
command you can also use 'w', 'top', and 'cat /proc/uptime' (the first
number is your uptime in seconds)

Depending on your circumstances you might also be able to ask Netcraft:

     http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph/?site=www.kclug.org
