RH 8 and RAID 0

The steps to creating RAID during installation

    1. Start the installer-choose graphical mode
    2. Choose custom install
    3. On the Disk Druid-Partition page add a /boot partition that is
not on a raid array. 20 MB should be plenty of room.
           * Note: although this is not required it is a good idea. If
you create a /boot partition on a software raid array you will not be
able to upgrade your kernel.
    4. Add the partitions that will make up the raid device.
           * Note: for raid 0 and raid 1 you must have at least 2
partitions. For raid 5 you will need a minimum of 3 partitions.
    5. Choose the add button to add a partition.
    6. Edit the size of the partition (typically you will want all of
the partitions in a raid array to be the same size).
    7. Change partition type to "Linux Raid"
    8. Choose the hard drive on which the new partition will live.
    9. Repeat for each partition in the raid array.
   10. Once the partitions are created that will make up the raid device
click on the "make raid device" button.
           * Choose the mount point for the raid array
           * Choose the partition type (Linux native or swap)
           * Choose the raid device (the first device is typically md0)
           * Choose which partitions to include in the raid array
           * Choose the raid type (0,1, or 5)
   11. Repeat these steps for each raid device you wish to create.
