Well, by trying to emerge ufed I got an extra half hour wait.   Did I really
need this?  I was going by Gentoo' directions and didn't see this anywhere.
Now all sorts of stuff is getting downloaded and installed.

I did change the default mirror and I am getting 115-120Kbps downloads from
the GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu" site you suggested.

At what point do I issue that command?   After stage 1 or 2 or what?
