Powerpc distro suggestions

I second this.  Gentoo is a nice distro, a pain to install for the first 
time (a little bit of a learning curve), but the install instructions 
are very informative.  Just follow the docs word by word and have alot 
of time available.  Plus the people in #gentoo on freenode will pretty 
much answer any question you have if you have a problem.
