When I was in college in 2000, we had a 486 DX2 66 with 32 megs of Ram running X with blackbox and it was usable if not super quick. Most of my roommates (none of whom were computer types) used it to hope on the web and such without any problems. It can be done, it just requires a little effort. Rob
