No they weren't.  The definitions are: "server" is a interface to
a resource, and a "client" is something that uses a resource provided
by a server.

The definitions are software-centric instead of user-centric.  From
those definitions, the user interface is a server that provides an
interface to the human resource, just the same as a SCSI module provides
an interface to a plate o' rust.
