back up your lilo.conf file

Copy your image file (do you have a static graphical image (i.e. .jpg,
.gif) or are you working on the animated boot screens?) to your /boot
directory.

change your message= to message=/boot/yourimage.jpg, .gif, etc.

back up your lilo.conf file

I don't know if you need to run lilo -v or not to install the changes...
wouldn't hurt... don't forget to back up lilo.conf before editing

I think there was some discussion on how to do this in the past...
someone correct me if I'm wrong in any of the above... you might check
the archives on the KCLUG site Al

No, this is your kernel image file.

Don't think so, I've seen #'s and ;'s used to comment out lines, but
never periods. I don't know Al, but I've never used ELX.

If you get your splash entry to fly, and you're feeling really brave....
check these out...
