Moving a HD

I know, I know... Linux list.  I'll ask anyway =)

Has anyone had any experience with taking a HD with FreeBSD on it and
placing it into a different computer?  Thoughts on how well it'll be able
to pick up on the different hardware and adjust?

I don't have a whole lot on the HD right now... Think I'd be better off
just wiping it and starting with a fresh install on the new hardware?

Suggestions, references, whatever are welcome.  Thanks in advance.  Have a
