Bandwith must cost something. Don't know the orrigional source, but any
business site should have the details on this and many failed
.coms/C-LEC's/ISP's.

Global Crossing, Ltd.announced Monday that it had filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District
of New York in what has been called the fourth-largest insolvency in U.S.
history. The fiber-optic
communications company said that it will continue to serve existing
customers while business partners Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. and Singapore
Technologies Telemedia Pte. Ltd. will provide $750 million in cash to take
control of the business.

According to Global Crossing, the cash infusion is conditioned on the court
confirming the reorganization plan by the end of August 2002. Reduced demand
for the company’s high-speed network services, which reportedly connects
more
than 200 major cities in 27 countries, had left the company with a
significant debt load -- $12.4 billion in liabilities versus $22.4 billion
in
assets. Trading in shares of Global
Crossing has been halted in light of the bankruptcy announcement
