dvd decryption issue

This is probably a stupid question but the whole decss issue,  isn't that 
moot with a hardware decoder card?  I haven't even tried to run a dvd in 
Linux yet but when I get  an ITX board (waiting for the m model with 1gig 
via)  I would like to build a entertainment pc.  It would be for my music and 
to use as a dvd drive with a decoder, and since it is low wattage, I would 
probably leave it on and set it up with a mailserver (send or fetch).
