Linux PDA experience?

I have a Handspring Visor Deluxe with a USB cradle. I use Mandrake 8.1 and
JPilot V0.99. I had trouble using the Handspring with Red Hat 7.1, due at
least in part to the USB drivers not being stable in the early 2.4 kernel
versions. My current install works fine with JPilot, but I could not get
KPilot to find the sync for me. Perhaps it would work correctly with a
serial port connect Palm Pilot, but JPilot works good for me. In fact, my
Handspring flipped out just today, and I used JPilot to successfully restore
my data back to my last backup. It seems that it should restore back to the
last sync, but I guess I'll put in a bug report. I guess for now I need to
do a backup each time I sync. I also have heard rumors that Evolution is, or
will be, a good PDA sync tool.

Can't help you with the Agenda, but I'd love to hear anyone else's
experience. There are some new PDA models coming out that look really
interesting. There is a Sharp coming out that is Linux based, but it's not
production yet, and in January Handspring is coming out with a PDA/cell phone
that looks like it will be great. Next year looks to be a banner year for
new PDA products.

Lotus Notes definitely works with the Palm OS based products, but I'm not
sure about Linux based. AFAIK, there is no Notes client for Linux. :-( IBM
needs to sh** or get off the pot here. If everything they do is going to
support Linux, they need to include all Lotus apps also. Especially the
Notes client. I think the Notes server (domino) runs on Linux, but not the
client. They should also just open source Smart Suite, BTW. Anyway, if you
are syncing to Notes, I think you are forced to use Windows at this point in
time.
