Non interactive Mail

Can I send an email form a shell script?
Totally automatic no user intervention

Here is what I have done
Mail -s "this is a test" josh at nph.com <mailto:josh at nph.com>

Every time I have tried it it prompts me for the body of the message, then I
have to hit control-D to send it
