I have to hand it to ya, this was a great idea. I finished writing my own filter
and thought I would share it with the group.

Edit it to change the settings and then move it to /usr/share/printconf or
somewhere similar. Then add this to your /etc/printcap.local or /etc/printcap.

lppdf|pdf distiller:	:ml=0:	:mx=0:	:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lppdf:	:lp=/dev/null:
:if=/usr/share/printconf/lppdf:

Thanks for the idea! -Jeremy

Subject: creating pdf files from lpd

I have the need to try to create pdf files from a postscript printer stream.
What I would like to do is:

Have a user send a print job to a lpr printer;
Have lpd take the job, create a pdf file,
Then take the file and mail it to the user.

This would all be automatic....can it be done?
