Have you had it working with other versions of RH?

I really hope you aren't trying to export your entire desktop and go from 
there ... that would be an abuse of the Windows X Server (and the network, 
and so on ) ... if you want to do that VNC might be a better choice.  As 
such, trying to run GDM would be silly (as you already have to be on the 
box to start the app ... chicken ... egg ... oh my!).
