Remote X

I appreciate the info.
I was reading about rsh and rexec. If I were to open port 6000, for X, and
port 514 for rsh could I then run remote X apps using rsh through proxy? I
am wondering if this is possible, if it is a bad idea, or is it just better
to use ssh?
Thanks in advance
