Concerning www.sound.net Hal was asking,

Well Hal, it's not so much what I 've heard as much as personal experience.
My employer has an account with www.sound.net and I have spoken with Roy
Timberman (owner) several times. It seems he is fully employed elsewhere
and www.sound.net is basically a weekend and evening hobby. Now, that's not
to say you can't get support if you need it. They do a have a tech support
number (which I believe is the wife of the NT admin that Roy employs.....if
you can hear her over the screaming kids in the background, she'll tell you
she'll get a message to the admin, who is probably employed full time
elsewhere also.) So, you don't get much here and now help, it's all done
later and if not done correctly, you have to start the phone call, message,
email process all over again.

The problems I have had to deal with in the past include, but are not
limited to the following:

Sound net upgraded their servers to Doze2k Pro (w/it's over 63K known bugs)
things were fubar'd for days during this event.
Sound net changed their primary and secondary DNS #'s with no notification
to their subscribers. (I was told to jumpt out on the net and get'em, rather
rudely.... that's fine if you have access =))
Took three weeks and repeated requests to get simple email addresses set up.

Now, while I have had this much trouble, there were a few people I knew
while attending DeVRY that started with www.sound.net and have stayed with
them, having no trouble at all.

Six of one, half-a-dozen of another *shrugs*.......

That's my story, and I'll only change it if the price is right............
=)

Eric
