The 2001 Annual Linux Showcase is already set for Oakland, 
or somewhere else in the bay area, so...

I thought about trying to do something "on our own", but 
felt it would be to much work.  I felt it would be better 
to skip it, than to try something and have another poorly 
attended event.  That is when I had the idea of trying to 
get an already successful (and now mobile) event to come 
here instead.
