Reciprocal Web Link Proposal

Today, I had a web design class, and sat next to the guy that owns
kctux.com (a bridal/formal shop, of course).  I suggested to him that we
try to get a reciprocal link between the KCLUG site and his.  Is this
something that should be pursued, or am I off base here?
