Forgot to mention it is a great idea. Are they looking for a new place or do
they move it every year?

Might want to get a count of number of states included in the LUG count or a
rough number of members.

Under the bullet for Geeks w/ Guns, were you implying that they would be
able to go full auto in KS or MO?

Here is a draft of an open letter I am writing. Comments? Agree?
Disagree?

--DRAFT--DRAFT--DRAFT--DRAFT--DRAFT--DRAFT--

Why the Annual Linux Showcase 2002 should be held in Kansas City.

1). Central Location: There are 49 local user groups within one day's
drive. The ill-fated LinuxFest 2000 had attendees from St. Louis,Wichita,
and Austin, TX.
2). Three letters: BBQ. Barbecue is a religious topic in Kansas City.

The arguments can get every bit as heated as which distribution, Vi/Emacs,
or Gnome/KDE.
3). Lower costs: Kansas City is less expensive than other areas of the
country.
4). Geeks with Guns: Full auto. 'nuff said.
5). Large convention space: Bartle Hall has 400,000 square feet of space.
6.) Local companies: Atipa, Informix, IBM S/390 group
