Tom,
If you're looking for stability, I'd recommend a USR total control chassis
if you need more than 12 phone lines. I've used a USR chassis with
Cistron radius on linux and it is a good solid combination. Also for a
long time I had four modems attached to a linux box running PPP. It
worked for the most part but I had problems at times when users didn't
gracefully disconnect, the pppd hadn't timed out yet and the phone company
rolled over an incoming call to that modem. The result is the modem would
ring and ring and ring so I suggest against using any software based RAS
solution and stick to a hardware based one. Just my two cents worth...
