# I think the Coh filesystem is traditional sysv with linked lists, right?
The traditional 'S51K' (Sys-V 1K) filesystem can be mounted under
COH' -- but your mount-point will be gone if you do :-))
I once tried to mount several filesystems (built onto a diskette)
which SCO-Unix supports (AFS, S51K, S52K, XENIX). None of 'em
(except 'S51K') was accepted by COH'.
# The minix fs uses bitmaps (much faster due to less fragmentation
# problems, but it has some overhead). There is a alpha version of a
# sysv-compatible filesystem that might be closer to the coherent one:
# people interested could take a peek at the patches on sunsite.unc.edu,
# pub/Linux/system/Filesystems/sysv or something like that. I haven't
# looked into it, but if somebody wants to work on it, I'd suggest getting
# in touch with Paul Monday (email address in the sources)..
#
# Linus
I don't believe, that COH' will come with a filesystem that is
compatible to other than the COH'-filessystem ( :-)) ) before
version V4.2 -- maybe someday in '94. So, if LINUX supports
S5-filesystems it could be a deep cut for MWC, since users of other
system (SCO, INTERACTIVE, ConsenSys, ESIX etc.) might jump over the
ditch (and actually do!)
