Subject: 4th time: PLEASE help with pl10!!!
Date: 22 Jun 1993 05:41:24 GMT

I do not know if this is because no one has had this problem, or because
everyone is ignoring my posts, but...

I have compiled pl10 with no problems what so ever. BUT, when it comes
to boot up time, my system hands. Well it doesn't hang, it just sits there.
At first I thought it may have something to do with the net-2 stuff, but that
wasn't it. I configured all the net-2 stuff, and it made it through that
part of the boot up fine. What happens is this:

I use lilo to boot the pl10 image.
It gets through all the serial chacking.
It get's through rc.
It gets through rc.local.
It gets through rc.net.

But after this is hangs. Like it was looking for something but didn't find it.
After it finds the ifconfig stuff, it doesn't give me a login prompt, I just
sit there. I CAN type stuff, and hit ctrl-alt-delete. But, still no
login prompt.

I am running:

    linux 0.99.pl9
    libc.so.4.4
    gcc-2.4.0

On a:

    AMD 386DX/40
    8meg of ram
    Tseng True color video.
    etc...

Can ANYONE out there help me. I would like to run pl10 because all the network
stuff is much better, and I always like to run the latest copy of anything.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP! for the 4th time.
