From: gkahn@sed.csc.com (Gary Kahn) Subject: 0.99.10--modem disappears Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1993 00:31:55 GMT
I just upgraded from 0.99.9 to 0.99.10, and my modem is no
longer found by the kernel. At bootup, 0.99.9 said that
serial driver 3.94 found
tty00 at 0x03f8 (IRQ = 4) is a 16450
tty01 at 0x02f8 (IRQ = 3) is a 16450
tty03 at 0x02e8 (IRQ = 3) is a 16450
At bootup, 0.99.10 doesn't see the last port. As a result, Seyon
cannot use it. With 99-9, I used the AUTO_IRQ detection feature to
get tty03 visible. With 99-10, that option isn't in the 'config'
script. When the kernel wouldn't find the modem, I added the
CONFIG_AUTO_IRQ manually and got the AUTO_IRQ label to come up at
boot time, but the tty03 still wasn't detected.
I've got tty03 set up as device 4/67, and I've got cua03 set up as
5/67. Is there something else that I can do to get my COM4 modem back?
I assume I've overlooked something obvious. Thanks in advance.
