what are folks thoughts on good VPN software with the following needs. Server runs on Linux, preferably both Lin/Win but at least LIN Server has solid win/lin clients opensource can auth against postgres, etc/passwd, ldap, mysql, text/flat files free what is the protocol of choice? L2TP? It would be CISCO VPN client worked with the specific server. thanks.

Cisco already provides a Linux VPN client. You have to get the software from the device administrator, or have a valid support account with Cisco.
