That obvious depends on the rate you consume it! One of my older laptops could go through a whole day of taking notes in classes... I highly doubt it had even 4 cell.
The Asus Eee PC uses a 7.4V, 5200mAh 4 cell Lithium-ion battery. According to the review done by Hot Hardware ( Review found at http://www.hothardware.com/articles/Asus_Eee_PC_Full_Retail_Review_Showcase/ ) , "The TDP (thermal design power) of the CPU is very low at only 5.5 watts." I believe that not only does it have an older (900 MHz) processor which requires less juice, it also is slightly underclocked in the RAM area. I still haven't decided if I want to get one. IIRC, it also lacks moving parts in a hard drive-- I imagine that provides some power savings as well.

Too bad you don't need to agree to the GPL to distribute it without copying, as presumably they might be.
