I'm back from lunch now so I'll answer all the questions.

We do have a separate WIFI connection that is different from the "production" network.  We have excellent bandwidth and would have no problem with people brining in "strange" hardware to a meeting.  The office is a professional environment and a "beer bash" would not really be acceptable.  However, if someone wanted t o bring a beer or two, bottle of wine or wine cooler that would not be a problem.  We just cannot have a "beer bash" type atmosphere or the offer to use the conference room will quickly be withdrawn by my boss.

The location is:

2700 Bi-State Dr.
Suite 500
Kansas City, MO

mapquest it or click on this link

It is really centrally located and only a few blocks away from where your meeting right now.

If you are really serious about this I will let my boss know that we will be using the room on the first Wednesday and third Tuesday of each month starting from 5:30 to 8:45.  I would have to say that he will do this on 6-month blocks of time.  So every 6-months we can decide if we want to continue from both sides.

Subject: Meeting Location Change

I'm so sorry. I don't know how to answer a particular post so I'm having to submit a new one.

I think that moving the meeting spot should take into consideration more factors than just "BEER". Personally, I'm not interested in attending a "beer bash". I try to attend the LUG meetings in an attempt to LEARN...although I've been stifled by the lack of ownership of a suitable laptop at present. [Laptop = DIFFERENT SUBJECT ;) ]

I like the idea of the North KC spot but it seems to be a bit small as sometimes more than 16 people show up. Parking is another consideration.

The other suggestion mentioned where someone works. Exactly WHERE is this located in the metro area? As the Real Estate industry says, "Location, Location, Location" is what is important. LOL!!!

Thanks for putting up with me.
