I am running RedHat 6.2 on a Pentium 166 with 32MB RAM as my gateway for my
Comcast@Home cable internet connection. I Have been experiencing some
problems with latency and dropped packets lately, and I want to find out
what the problem is. When I talked to the people at @Home, the lady said
that I need to turn off my firewall so they can ping my system and see what
kind of response they get back. I am currently running ipchains on the
system to act as my firewall. What do I need to be running to allow people
to ping my system? OR will flushing out ipchains and restarting the system
work?

Thanks,

Gene Dascher
