I'm not surprised. Since RedHat 7.2 is basically broken, IMHO. They have
taken Linux and reconfigured the He__ out of it. This is why we really
need to support the LSB team. People need to be able to pull down a
Linux application and be able to make it run on any Linux system. Let me
ask a stupid question here. The RPM was made for RedHat version 7.2
right? Also from your description it sounds like a rights issue, and not
necessarily an install issue.

I am installing qmail on my server, but it won't help you since the
system is being built from scratch. I didn't find sendmail difficult to
configure, as long as I had the 1000+ page reference book handy. ;)
