At the risk of starting a Holy War, you could do worse
than freeBSD. http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/today/top.avg.html
shows servers with the longest uptime.

I know you said linux but the differenses are so minor that you
shouldn't let that slow you up.

Well, it's time to put a new OS back on my local Linux server . . . .
what's the best flavor to put back for a local server. I don't need the
bells/whistles . . . just something solid. I'm looking to put
Apache/MySQL/PHP4 on it. It's a P200 box with 16Mb and now 3 gig . .. 1
gig and an 2 gig drive. Ugh . . . long story.

Thanks in advance!
