Because it's a useful option which is used frequently with no worse trouble 
than the original corruption warrants.  Not everybody is pedanticly obsessive 
about fixing individual file nodes, and it's usually not worth the additional 
work for the small increase in perceived "safety".

Remember, if we're that smart, we have backups.
